Sailor and flagship day- learning semaphore and how it was used!! We can now all semaphore our own names and learnt how to send messages!
Our powerpoints on natural disasters - they were fantastic and full of amazing facts.
Today we were visited by Karen from the Travelling Books Company. She introduced the children to just some of the wonderful books that will be on offer both this week and next week at our book fair. We found out about stories set in pre-historic times to magical beasts and aliens. There is also a range of non-fiction texts available on subjects from Leonardo De Vinci to female icons, and dinosaurs!
Science we have been learning about different parts of the human body from circulation to our skeleton and our digestive system . It has been fun and a little bit messy when we tried to look at the digestive system!!
Today we had someone come in and talk to us about making right choices about gangs and drugs as we move on to secondary school. It was really interesting and we all learnt a lot.
The Highwayman came to visit to start our exciting new English topic. He told us all about how he had been betrayed whilst stealing jewels from bystanders.
Our Titanic inquiry saw the 4 suspects receive a grilling from Year 6 with fantastic leading questions. They all got a little hot under the collar and tried their hardest to prove their innocence.

World War One day - a fantastic day where we learnt about school life, food during the war for the soldiers and at home, trench warfare and other amazing facts.
Hispanic Day!! This is our class from last Friday on Hispanic day. We were learning about the Day of the Dead in Gloucester's classroom - hence the decorations. We all had a great day - even though apparently the salsa making was quite hard work!!
