This week at Kennington CE Academy: Monday 24th September – Harvest Service at St Mary’s Church. Year 4 and 6 will start at 9:15am and year 3 and 5 will start at 10am. Thursday 27th September – 2:15pm-3:15pm – SLT Surgery Friday 28th September – Non-uniform day for Macmillan. A suggested donation of a cupcake or £1. Cakes will be on sale on the top playground from 3pm.

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

The original school building was built in 1872 and this building still exists as a school office. In the 1950s nine classrooms were added. A hall and three further classrooms were added in 2000.


We now have 12 classes of up to 90 children in each year group.


We are well supported by our PTFA who raise a lot of funds that enables us to enhance the learning for our children.

We work closely with Downs View Infant school and have strong transitions from Year 2 to Year 3 which welcomes everyone on board. See link below for information on Downs View.


Our local church is St Mary's which the children can see from the playground. This amazing 600 year old church has a bustling community which we are proud to be part of.

When children leave Year 6 they mostly attend The Tower School or one of the local grammar schools.
