On Saturday 24th March, Adam, PJ, Cailyn and Yadu went to Hartsdown Sports Centre, Margate, to compete in the annual Kent Schools Swimming Championships. In total, 19 schools participated in the event. Adam and Cailyn, who are in Year 5, were racing against Year 6’s, and both did very well – Cailyn smashed 7 seconds off her personal best time, coming 15th in the 50m freestyle in a time of 44.26s, and Adam swam 50m butterfly in 40.63s, earning himself a 5th place medal! In other individual events, PJ came 11th in the 50m freestyle in an impressive 39.46s and Yadu swam the 50m backstroke 14 seconds faster than his entry time, coming 11th in a time of 57.62s. The highlight though, was in the freestyle relay, where Adam, Yadu, PJ and Cailyn swam together for the first time as a team, and secured silver medals for a 2nd place finish. Well done to our KA swimmers!

Recently we took a 7-a-side netball team to play in a competition against other schools in the region, including private schools. On a tough day, the team excelled themselves, despite coming up a little short. Well done. Bring on the Netball League!

Congratulations to the Kennington Basketball Team who finished 3rd and unbeaten in the recent tournament. The Team won all their games except 1 that was drawn. Special mention to Kieran Proberts from Year 5 who was the 'standout player' from all the schools.

Year 5 and 6 Sportshall Athletics. 5th out of 20 schools. Excellent performance by all involved! Special mention to Tayon who gave up his opportunity for a friend.

Year 3/4 Handball Tournament. 4th out of 24 teams. Exceptional players, sadly lost in the semi finals on penalties. What a way to go!
